Instrumental Lessons

The School Instrumental Program provides opportunities to introduce students to an instrument. Tuition is available in violin, viola, ‘cello, clarinet, saxophone, flute, guitar, piano, drums, recorder and voice. There are some instruments available for hire. Lessons take place during the school day in separate practice rooms. A third new practice room and music storeroom were built in 2017 to accommodate the growing music program.


Year 4-6 Choir rehearse weekly at 8am in the music room. This is an audition choir performing at school events, local festivals, eisteddfods and also biannually at the BOITE Schools’ Chorus events.

Year 3 and 4 Choir rehearse weekly at lunchtime in the music room. This choir rehearse for lunchtime performances for friends and family in the music room.


Instrumental performing groups (ensembles) are formed to meet the needs of the students in the Instrumental Program. These groups perform at school events, local festivals and eisteddfods. Currently, Ensembles at MAPS include:

Orchestra, Junior Strings, Wind Ensemble, Guitar ensemble, Rock Band and Recorder Ensemble.
